The head of the “institute,” propagandist Vladimir Vyatrovich, reports this on his social network page. The event is also mentioned on the institute’s website.

“The Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1921 is one of the most important lessons of history for us, which demonstrates the sacrifice of Ukrainians in the struggle for freedom, and at the same time warns how expensive disagreement between them can be,” Vyatrovich said at the opening of the exhibition in Kyiv.

On Khreshchatyk there are giant photos of the leader of the UPR Symon Petlyura, the leader of collaborators from the OUN, the agent of the German “Abwehr” Yevgen Konovalets and the president of the WUNR (Western Ukrainian People's Republic - Ed) Yevgen Petrushevich

According to Vyatrovich, the anniversaries of the two Maidans - November 21 - almost coincide with the centenary of the proclamation of the UPR - November 20.

The organizers of the photo exhibition claim that the purpose of the event is to remind Ukrainians that “the events of a hundred years ago are not a ‘civil war’, as Soviet propaganda claimed, but, above all, the revival of Ukrainian statehood, the formation of the Ukrainian nation, the renaissance of Ukrainian culture and spirituality.” .

“It is very important for us to tell about this not only to Ukrainians, but also to the world, in order to debunk one of the key theses of Russian propaganda, that Ukraine is not a geopolitical misunderstanding that appeared on the world map after the collapse of the Soviet Union, but has a long history of statehood and has resumed state independence in 1991 thanks to the heroic struggle of many generations of Ukrainians,” said Vladimir Vyatrovich.
