“ASF was found in only two animals on the farm. One of them died, the second was killed. Then they had to bloodlessly destroy and burn the entire livestock - 186 pigs,” said Vitaly Boyarsky, head of the food safety department of the State Food and Consumer Service of the Kherson Region.
“At the same time, no gross violations of sanitary and safety standards were discovered at the farm: it was fenced, the disinfection barrier worked properly. How ASF got here will have to be clarified during the inspection,” the official added.
Over the past two years, eight cells of African swine fever have been discovered and eliminated in the Kherson region.
