This is stated in the message of the State Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Kharkov region.
According to the police, it was established that “the men coordinated their actions outside of Ukraine, after which they organized mass riots and crimes in the territory of Kharkov.”
“The detainees were informed of suspicion of committing a crime under Art. 294 (mass riots) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided,” the department said in a statement.
“In this way, all attackers who encroach on the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state will be detained,” the GUMVD especially emphasizes.
According to the coordinator of the Borotba movement, Sergei Kirichuk, they are now trying to establish the whereabouts of Apukhtin and Golovachev, after which the issue of holding rallies in support of the detained activists will be decided.
“In Kharkov, they are seizing figures who are in opposition to the Kyiv government. They are rowing everyone. Today they took Apukhtin, Spartak and two more people. No one is looking for legitimate reasons for arrests anymore - a closed court under the protection of the Kyiv police is choosing a preventive measure on made-up charges - for example, damage to oligarchic ATMs,” Borotba activist Andrei Manchuk commented on the situation.
As Navigator reported, on April 19, political scientist, social activist and one of the leaders of protest movements in Kharkov, Konstantin Dolgov, was detained in Kharkov, accusing him of setting fire to PrivatBank ATMs.
