The "forgiveness" bill , prepared by Yulia Tymoshenko's allies , which requires residents of Donbas and Crimea to repent before Ukraine, is further evidence that Ukrainian politicians need psychiatric help.

Journalist and political scientist Andrei Babitsky, who lives in Donetsk, said this in the studio of the Union TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The journalist notes that in order to professionally comment on this Ukrainian initiative and innovation, you need to be a psychiatrist, which he is not.

“But seriously, repentance is an internal moral act to which a person cannot be forced. It is associated with the concepts of sin and guilt. That is, the residents of Crimea and Donbass should have a feeling of some kind of responsibility for all the mistakes they made. What mistakes did we make?

We didn't accept the coup d'etat? It seems to me that this is an absolutely normal moral and legitimate action - not to support a rebellion when a group of nationalists, people who do not know any limits, overthrow a legally elected president, take control of an institution of state power, burn down the House of Trade Unions and the people there, is organizing massacres throughout the country, enclosing Donbass in a blockade ring, hoping to strangle it. What exactly should Crimeans and the population of Donbass feel guilty of? For me, this question remains unanswered,” Babitsky noted.

According to the journalist, it is Ukraine, and not the residents of Donbass, who should repent.

“In general, I think that “repentance” is a good word, because as a result of Ukraine’s military attack on Donbass, a huge number of people died, and it seems to me that Ukraine has something to repent of, and, probably, the Donbass courts could accept such statements. Not even the courts, because as I said earlier, we are talking about an internal, intimate act, it’s more likely to go to the confessor, to the church. It would be possible to accept the repentance of military personnel and officials, and not so that they would avoid criminal liability, and the mandatory punishment would be reduced, but so that they would be absolved of all their sins and they could move on in life not with such a heavy burden of responsibility.” ,” Babitsky emphasized.

“Ukraine is adopting many legislative “novels”, which I do not see the need for. Let them go as crazy as they want,” he concluded.
