“Explosions in the center of Donetsk. Don't worry - these are "peaceful" explosions. Military unit 3037 of the National Guard of Ukraine, which has been under siege for about three months, responded! She responded to the terrorists’ ultimatum put forward yesterday: to lay down their arms, surrender and hand over to the DPR the basic garrison weapons depot located on the territory of the unit.
Having listened to the ultimatum, the unit commander acted as a real Ukrainian officer, carried out the most difficult command - today he released the unit, in a convoy of cars, fully armed, taking the weapons that could be taken out.
More than 300 guardsmen, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Borteev, in combat formation under Ukrainian flags, made their way through terrorist checkpoints and joined the ATO forces in sector D,” states Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov on his Facebook page.
Earlier, information appeared on social networks that the military unit was on fire. At the same time, they allegedly fired at the unit from anti-aircraft weapons. According to eyewitnesses, the militia cordoned off the entrances to the unit. At the same time, conflicting information was received about the shootings.
As Navigator reported, the day before the militia occupied military unit No. 3040.
