“The previous rector arbitrarily took away all the statutory documents and licenses for educational activities. Now he is in Kyiv asking for permission to operate a university in the city of Vinnitsa. This is a good city and you can go there to visit friends for a week or two. But why would the entire university go there?” – said the Minister of Education and Science of the DPR Igor Kostenok.
He stated that today DonNU began paying salaries to all university employees. According to him, 93-95% of the teaching staff is in Donetsk and has agreed to start the academic year.
“After all, in Vinnitsa they are not going to provide them with apartments of the same level that they have in the capital of Donbass. And there are no places in the Vinnitsa dormitories for seven thousand students either,” the DPR press service reports.
“We left - no questions asked! Let's let young assistant professors become professors! Let's allow young administrators to grow into deans and provosts. I think that this cleansing will only benefit our university,” Kostenok said, as quoted by Donbass News.
Diplomas from DPR university graduates will be valued quite normally all over the world, the leadership believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Ministry of Education of Ukraine stated that DonNU would move to Vinnitsa.
