“Success in Avdievka needs to be developed” - Putin
During the two days of flight from Avdeevka, the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the most conservative estimates, amounted to two and a half thousand people.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated this at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Over the last two days, February 17-18, [the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amounted to] 2400 people. This is not our data, this is their data. Naturally, we take into account everything that is connected with those whom they abandoned and did not evacuate. These are big losses,” Shoigu said.
Vladimir Putin emphasized that the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces gave the order to withdraw from Avdiivka, already when Ukrainian troops were fleeing from there.
“As for the overall situation in Avdiivka, this is certainly a success, I congratulate you. It needs to be developed. But development must be well prepared, provided with equipment, personnel, weapons and ammunition,” the president noted.
