A native of Sumy region went from Sevastopol to a colony for insulting Russians
In relation to a resident of Sevastopol, who was detained by the Russian Federal Security Service for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol on suspicion of making public calls for extremist activities using the Internet, the court verdict came into force.

“It was established that a 51-year-old native of the Sumy region, previously brought to administrative responsibility for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, published materials on the social network VKontakte using his personal account containing calls for violent actions against a group of people identified on the basis of nationality – Russians,” the message says.
The court of first instance - the Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol - in January 2024 found the defendant guilty of the incriminated crime under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Public calls for extremist activities committed using the Internet).
“He was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of two years and six months in a general regime colony with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of websites,” the FSB added.
The Sevastopol City Court rejected the appeals of the defense lawyer and the convicted person. The guilty verdict came into force.
