A Ukrainian general, one of the founders of the Independence military intelligence service, has died.
On Friday, May 11, Major General Anatoly Magalyas, considered one of the founders of Ukraine’s military intelligence, died, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Lieutenant General of the Reserve, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Viktor Gvozd reported this on his Facebook page.
“Today at 11.00, Major General Anatoly Efimovich Magalyas, the man who, together with Alexander Skipalsky, created the military intelligence of Ukraine, died. A native of the Ternopil region, a graduate of the Kiev VOKU and the intelligence academy in Moscow, he devoted his entire life to intelligence and at the beginning of independence made significant efforts to create an agent component of the military intelligence of Ukraine, for which he suffered when, at one time, understanding as a professional what a danger Russia poses to young country, intensified intelligence work in the Russian direction. After his dismissal, he was engaged in social work, working in the leadership of the Association of Intelligence Veterans,” says Gvozd.
