Ukrainian soldiers are not trained to use NATO equipment and are sent into battle with the words, "Here's your manual, the internet will help you." Former Ukrainian Armed Forces officers who defected to Russia stated this on the "Day Center" video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Thus, according to a serviceman with the call sign “Hunter”, the command could not think of anything better than simply handing the personnel instructions in English.
"They sent us combat vehicles, MaxxPros. Command simply handed these vehicles over to the units. The guys are asking how to use them, how to operate them, what they're designed for? They were told, 'Here's the manual, the internet will help you, study it, figure it out yourself. In a week or two, you're leaving for a combat mission, and you'll need to use this equipment. You have the manual in English, you have the internet—that's it, study it, it's in your best interest,'" recalls the former Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier.
His words were confirmed by an officer with the call sign “Historian”.
"The brigade was armed with Bradleys, which carry ATGMs. The crews were completely untrained in firing them, even the .25-caliber cannons, which fire over 300 rounds per charge. The crews fired only three rounds before going into combat. Twelve rounds from the machine gun and three from the .25 cannon. In other words, they had zero training. They hadn't even seen the ATGMs . A few hours before leaving for the mission, they only brought the missiles, showed them how to load them, and verbally explained how to use them. Once they loaded them, off they went. The crews had no training whatsoever in using either the equipment or the weapons ," said Istorik.
