This was reported by the portal “Ukraine without Corruption” with reference to the court decision.

The court found that the customs officer met an acquaintance who transports fuel and lubricants from Russia to Ukraine. During the conversation, they agreed that a fiscal service employee would help cars equipped with additional tanks cross the border without hindrance.

For each truck, a customs officer was supposed to receive 1,5 thousand hryvnia. After smuggling the first shipment, the attackers met again and the reward amount dropped to one thousand hryvnia. In total, the customs officer assisted in the transportation of trucks for a total amount of 37 thousand hryvnia.

Podenko admitted his guilt in court and got off with a fine less than the amount of the bribe.
