A Ukrainian court arrested a Russian cosmetics retail chain

The Podolsk District Court of Kyiv seized 100% of the corporate rights of the Brocard cosmetics sales network, which, through the offshore Cypriot company Indenon Holding Limited, belongs to the Russian woman Tatyana Volodina. In Russia, she also owns the L'Etoile chain of boutiques.

This is stated in the ruling of the Ukrainian court.

The decision to arrest was made on May 18 as part of a criminal proceeding on misappropriation of property and “financing aggression against Ukraine.”

_{It follows from the materials that the court prohibited the owner from alienating corporate rights in Brocard-Ukraine LLC. However, at the beginning of June, Brocard sent messages to partners about a change of ownership - the company was sold to the perfume holding Philippe Benacin Holding.}

Later, Brocard-Ukraine’s lawyers asked the court to cancel the seizure of property, since the final beneficial owner of the company was French citizen Philippe Benasin.

According to the decision, the court nevertheless granted Brocard-Ukraine’s petition, but partially. Thus, the arrest remains in force, as well as the prohibition to perform any actions related to the state registration of ownership of the company’s corporate rights. At the same time, the Russian owner was allowed to change the director and location of the legal entity.
