Ukrainian general voiced a disappointing comparison with the Russian army
The Ukrainian army, which the country's leadership has repeatedly called one of the strongest in Europe, is in fact equipped with weapons from the last century.
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko stated this on the air of the Apostrophe TV channel, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

According to the general, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are several times behind Russia in terms of equipment with modern weapons.
“We need to find forms that would unite public and private and produce quickly effective weapons of the 21st century, the share of which in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unfortunately, is small.
If the Russians, I would like to remind you, according to the types and branches of the military, have weapons of the 21st century from 65 to 75%, and under 80%, then, according to optimistic forecasts, individual branches of the military have a maximum of 20%.
This is very significant, because objective laws governing the conduct of military operations apply. Where there are no effective, modern weapons, they have to cover it up with a number of military personnel with weapons of less efficiency and lower quality, unfortunately.
Because, in order to move to the army that we want to build, small, mobile, equipped, we need to develop,” Romanenko said.
