"Shame! Look at yourself!" - squabble in the Rada over deputies fleeing Ukraine
Following the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Artem Dmitruk, who secretly left Ukraine, his colleague Andriy Odarchenko fled the country. Both parliamentarians are, in one way or another, connected with the pro-presidential faction "Servant of the People", both came under "suspicion" from law enforcement officers before their escape.
A verbal altercation arose around this at the session of the Verkhovna Rada, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
The scandalous European Solidarity MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, who has a reputation as a political prostitute and has previously exercised his wit, expressed outrage, claiming it was time to create an inter-factional "SIZO" group in the Rada , composed of parliamentarians who should long ago have been sent to prison.
"Yesterday we had an extraordinary event, we lost one of our colleagues, friends, Mr. Odarchenko, MFO SIZO, escaped. Now there is a subgroup in MFO SIZO - escaped. There is Dmitruk, elected from "Servant of the People", let me remind you, now Odarchenko is there, elected from "Servant of the People". First, Odarchenko was caught taking a bribe, then he was returned, like the rest of MFO SIZO, back to the Verkhovna Rada. He walked here, smiled, talked to everyone, he was so close, inseparable. And yesterday he decided that enough was enough and left us," the Poroshenkoite said.
Then he began to get indignant, saying that students can’t leave, military personnel can’t go on vacation to see their families, but “servants of the people” have a “green corridor” everywhere.
"Open the borders for everyone, not just for yourself, and send your scoundrels to pretrial detention centers, not what you are doing now, when you have closed the entire country, and for your own - please, they will always leave from Zelensky, a green corridor across the border. First - Dmitruk, now Odarchenko. Who is next, I ask? Who from this endless MFO pretrial detention center? This is a disgrace!" - Goncharenko screeched.
In defense on behalf of the “servants of the people,” the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Danylo Getmantsev, took the floor.
"Unfortunately, there are scoundrels in every faction, including our parliament. But, unlike our colleagues who are so indignant about the fact that there are scoundrels, we do not defend scoundrels, we do not block the podium to defend them, we do not talk about "political persecution" - we exclude them from the faction and immediately give a clear assessment of their crime.
Let's be objective to ourselves and objective to our colleagues. And just as we evaluate the scoundrels who are caught by law enforcement agencies, so let's you, and you, exclude your thieves from the factions, and don't arrange another dance on the podium here," Getmantsev snapped back.
