"Russians will buy everything!" - Rada allows auctioning off state banks
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has authorized the auction of a number of state-owned banks , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Regarding the privatization of formerly private banks— Privatbank, Sens Bank, Ukrgasbank—they should definitely be transferred to private hands; there are no doubts or objections here. And how effectively the procedures are laid out will be determined by the price of these banks, the prices at which they are sold, and who specifically buys them. Depending on this, we will assess the effectiveness of the procedures," commented Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

Poroshenko's deputy Artur Gerasimov immediately began to scare with the Russian threat - although it is clear that banks in Ukraine will now be bought up, first of all, by Western capital. Apparently, Poroshenko simply cannot accept that the Ze-gang will skim the cream off the sales.
"This bill is a very cunning, very clever, very, I would say, brilliant and insidious story about allowing Ukrainian state banks, Russian money, and gambling money to be privatized.
If there are no direct Russian accomplices, but Russian money is controlling this situation, then this company could buy a Ukrainian state-owned bank. "They're very cleverly and very cunningly exempting public companies operating in Russia, whether Russian or foreign, that are currently making money in Russia, from all the restrictions on Russia. And then they'll use the money earned in Russia to buy Ukrainian state-owned banks ," Gerasimov said.
However, in the end, the document was supported by 260 deputies, the bill was adopted in the second reading and sent to the expired President Volodymyr Zelensky for signature.
