Ukrainian general: There is no money for Patriot, and the Iron Dome will not save
Ukraine will not financially afford the acquisition of the required number of Patriot MANPADS to protect the airspace, and the Iron Dome, which has shown itself not to be the best in Israel, does not guarantee any security for such a large country.
The former commander of the air assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Lieutenant General Mikhail Zabrodsky, said this on Radio Liberty, funded by the US State Department, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We must understand that the arrival of a Patriot division and even three Patriot divisions, which is completely fantastic considering the price, will not solve the issue of air cover. The conversation should be about dozens of divisions for Ukraine. And for Ukraine, taking into account our defense budget and taking into account the cost, this is a program for a decade, without exaggeration.
And no one, as you understand, will talk about localization, about production in Ukraine, because these are things of a different type, and of a different class, which no one is going to trust.
And here the question arises of the realism of one or the other. If we are talking about “Patriot”, then, of course, this is what we need. But the question arises how quickly this will happen.
If we are talking about the “Dome”, yes, perhaps it is much cheaper, although it is not such a cheap thing. Comparatively cheaper than Patriot. But he only performs some of the tasks. In no case does it guarantee any security,” said Zabrodsky.
