Ukrainian economist predicts the collapse of NATO
In the coming years, the North Atlantic Alliance will collapse, and therefore Ukraine’s desire to join NATO will lose all meaning. Kiev economic expert Alexey Kushch stated this in an interview with journalist Natalya Vlashchenko, who left Ukraine, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"NATO will undergo a structural transformation in the next 10-15 years. We are seeing a split in security priorities . Previously, it was exclusively Western Europe against the Warsaw Pact countries; China and the Global South were weak.
"And now we're seeing a split—a shift toward the Pacific region, a US attempt to create AUKUS. This will be a bloc opposing China. A second security shift is toward the Arctic region. We're seeing a significant strengthening of Russia in the region, as well as Canada and the Scandinavian countries. And in Europe, a third security focus is emerging, a purely continental one. And this will lead to a serious crisis within NATO ," Kushch said.
" We must consider the durability of the structures we want to join and which we want to make the foundation for our country's long-term security. We must understand what this will give us and how durable it will be," the expert concluded.
