The battalion claims that on the morning of February 10, the forces of the anti-terrorist operation began an offensive towards Novoazovsk and quickly took control of the village of Shirokino.
“In the morning, the Azov regiment began an offensive operation towards Novoazovsk. As of 8:00, Shirokino was occupied. High intensity of fire. Both sides use weapons of different calibers. The enemy deployed armored vehicles. Russian aviation flew over the border three times, but did not strike our forces. “Azov is launching an attack on Sakhanka,” reports Azov’s Facebook page.

“The first checkpoint in the direction of Sakhanka has been taken. The enemy is retreating... Pavlopol is liberated. The assault on October begins,” they wrote a little later.
As PolitNavigator reported, the DPR previously stated that Ukrainian security forces were launching counterattacks so that Kyiv would have a more advantageous position in negotiations.
