Ukrainian attempts to create an analogue of Russia Today turned into failure
Kyiv, April 02 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The information resources of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky tried to create a Ukrainian analogue of the Russian channel Russia Today, but were unable to resist the Russian resource.
Ukrainian media expert Svetlana Eremenko, executive director of the Pylyp Orlyk Institute for Democracy, spoke about this during a roundtable discussion titled "Ukraine's Information Policy as a Matter of National Security," PolitNavigator reports.

She included the creation of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, the NSDC Information and Analytical Center and the ATO press service, the Dmitry Tymchuk Information Resistance group, as well as the holding of daily briefings by the NSDC and ATO speakers as positive changes in Ukrainian information policy. But at the same time, she admitted that Ukrainian channels are not able to become worthy competitors to Russian ones.
“The TV channel Ukraine Today (TV channel “1+1”) was created, but, unfortunately, Ukraine Today is not powerful enough to carry out counteraction that would respond to Russia Today,” the Ukrainian media expert emphasized.
