Ukrainian propaganda failed again with Crimea
The turnout at the plebiscite on amendments to the Russian Constitution in Crimea exceeded 52%. The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, announced this in his blog.
“At the end of the day on June 28, 52% of registered voters voted (775 people, including 092 who voted in voting premises),” Aksenov said.
According to political scientist Oleg Bondarenko, the turnout in Crimea can be considered unexpectedly high - this is clear evidence that, contrary to the theses of Ukrainian propaganda and the assertions of liberals, the inhabitants of the peninsula have integrated into Russian society.
“This is a fantastically good result, taking into account the fact that at the moment we only have the fourth day of voting, preliminary voting, I emphasize, and the main voting will only be on the first of July.
So, with these numbers, Crimea can generally be a leader in both turnout and voting for the Constitution. Of course, this suggests that the choice of the Crimeans has not changed over these six years, and everyone is happy with the reunification with Russia,” Bondarenko said in a comment to PolitNavigator.
Let us recall that one of the amendments to the Constitution, for which citizens vote, provides for the impossibility of alienating Russian territories, which is a response to claims regarding Crimea, Kaliningrad and the Kuril Islands.
