Ukrainian Academy of Sciences: We can bill Poland for several genocides
Ukraine can “invoice” Poland for recognizing the Volyn massacre as genocide. Leonid Zashkilnyak, deputy director for scientific work at the Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the National Academy of Sciences, stated this in an interview with the Den newspaper.
According to him, if we rely on the international concept of genocide, then Poland carried out the genocide of Ukrainians several times.

“The Genocide Convention of December 9, 1948 interprets the concept of genocide very broadly. In particular, according to the second paragraph of this convention, we have every right to accuse the interwar Polish governments of genocide of the Ukrainian people. This concerns the restrictions on the rights of national minorities that took place and, in particular, related to the selection of children from families. Then we have the right to present an account of the genocide of the Polish interwar government and the Polish underground during the Second World War. And we can say that the attacks on Sagryni on March 10, 1944 and on Pavlokoma on March 1 - 3, 1945 by the Home Army were nothing more than genocide of the Ukrainian people. So we can charge the Poles with genocide,” Zashkilniak said.
