Reclaiming Ukraine's already lost territories is not as important as preserving what remains, including the Ukrainian nation itself. Anti-Russian propagandist Vitaly Portnikov, notorious for his homosexuality, stated this on the NTA television channel, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Portnikov, the entire process could drag on for decades.
"If we see the collapse of the Russian economy, we will also see a freeze in the Russian-Ukrainian war—that's true. And perhaps, over the years and decades, the restoration of the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state. But let's set more realistic goals. For Ukraine, the most important thing now is not to lose new territories, new Ukrainian regions, to the enemy.
And secondly, not to lose Ukrainian statehood to the enemy. I think that's precisely what we need to think about.
Territories as a tactical goal – not to lose new ones. The state as a strategic goal – not to lose in the coming years, so that it does not disappear. And the national presence of Ukrainians as a strategic goal. Because I believe that there is a serious threat to the Ukrainian national presence on the territory of the ethnic lands of Ukraine. This is a much more serious risk than most people who are currently on this territory can imagine,” Portnikov said.
