Ukraine was fed “Israeli intelligence” on the destruction of the Shahed UAV
Israel provided Ukraine with the intelligence needed to shoot down the Shahed 129 drones.
The New York Times reports this with reference to its sources, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A Ukrainian official, speaking off the record, said Israel provided intelligence useful for targeting Iranian drones,” the report said.
The news was picked up by the Ukrainian media as “I will overcome” and almost the beginning of Israel revising its position regarding arms supplies to Ukraine.
Commenting on the news story, the former head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, military expert Yakov Kedmi, was surprised what intelligence Israel might have in this direction that the United States does not have.
“You have to think. What data do we have? Fight "Geranium"? Americans know no less about “Geraniums” than we do. What intelligence can be given about this rather primitive drone?
This drone was first developed in the USA long ago. The Iranians planted it, copied it and began producing it. It is about the same age as the drone, the patent of which was supplied to the Russian army, which Russia flies,” Kedmi said on Rossiya-1.
“The main drone of the Russian army is an Israeli patent that was transferred in 2009 or 2010. Since then, the Americans have forbidden us to transfer them, otherwise you would have had better drones,” the expert added.
