Ukraine was able to restore only half of the energy facilities damaged by the Russian Armed Forces, - expert
Ukraine was able to restore no more than half of the energy facilities destroyed by attacks last winter.
This was stated on the UkrLife internet channel by Volodymyr Omelchenko, director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Omelchenko, this has led to a shortage of capacity, which means that in the coming winter, shutdown schedules will be introduced in the country, even without taking into account the strikes of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Ukraine currently has no reserve capacity. Essentially, we are entering winter without sufficient reserve capacity. In November, we will have enough capacity for now, there will be little frost. But I mean generation capacity - we may have a lot of coal and gas, but we do not have enough capacity to generate electrical energy from these energy carriers. Because a lot of objects were damaged or destroyed, about 50%. First of all, generation, thermal generation. Only a certain amount was restored - no more than half of what was damaged. Therefore, we have a capacity shortage, which may affect the winter. We do not have a power reserve, so if a nuclear unit fails in winter, this can be a very big problem. Therefore, even if there are no shellings, then in the cold season, when frosts are below seven degrees Celsius, we may have a deficit of about two or three gigawatts. This deficit can be partially covered by the import of electrical energy, but still Ukraine will be forced to apply planned shutdown schedules,” Omelchenko said.
