Ukraine risks going into a full-fledged blackout
If the Russian army continues to strike substations that distribute electricity from nuclear power plants, Ukraine will face a full-scale blackout.
This was stated by Yuriy Korolchuk, an expert at the Institute of Energy Strategies, on the air of the "Black Swan" video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Everything today rests on the work of nuclear power plants. It is not for nothing that Zelensky himself made statements at the UN, and periodically Zelensky's entourage, the authorities spread such thoughts that supposedly attacks will be carried out on substations, this can lead to blackouts. This is how it can be, really.
If this happens, we will immediately lose half of Ukraine's electricity production. And given that thermal generation is practically nonexistent today, and hydroelectric power plants have reduced their capacity by 30%, this would effectively mean a full-blown blackout ," Korolchuk stated.
