Ukraine promises massive strike on Russian defense plants
Ukraine will use the new "Peklo" drone missiles unveiled yesterday against Russian defense industry facilities in the rear regions of the Russian Federation. Ukrainian aviation expert and leading researcher at the State Aviation Museum, Valeriy Romanenko, announced this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Romanenko, another two dozen Russian airfields will be in the affected area.
"I hope it has a sufficient warhead. A range of 700 kilometers is what we need now to hit a number of Russian military targets . We're talking about at least 20 Russian airfields, and there are also military enterprises located in this zone that are important for the Russian defense industry . For example, the Smolensk plant, which still produces Kh-59 MK2 missiles, and there are also enterprises that produce not final weapons, but components that are essential for the creation of many types of weapons. These are the ones that we will now be able to target, and massively ," Romanenko stated.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the adoption of a new drone-missile "Peklo", the range of which is allegedly 700 kilometers. However, in the expert community, having studied the initial characteristics of the weapon, they doubted this, noting that "Peklo" flies twice as short a distance and uses GPS guidance, which allows Russian electronic warfare and air defense to neutralize the threat. At the same time, the drone itself consists of 90% Western components and is only presented as Ukrainian. This formally gives the Ukrainian Armed Forces the ability to strike at Russian territory recognized by the West.
