Ukraine wants to repeat its autumn success in capturing the territory of the Kharkov region during the current offensive. To do this, the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike at the rear, knocking out warehouses with ammunition and fuels and lubricants, trying to deprive the group of Russian troops of control.
Military correspondent Alexander Kots announced this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“These strikes are methodical. The systematic approach of the Ukrainian command to the upcoming counter-offensive is visible: they knock out logistics, knock out rear supply bases with both ammunition and fuel and lubricants, and hit control points.
To a lesser extent, they are now striking at the front line - it is still important for them to disrupt the system of command and control and then, they believe, they will be able to advance long distances without hindrance,” the military correspondent said.
“They are counting on a certain Kharkov scenario, when, unfortunately, we had a loss of command and control of the troops and in this confusion they were able to advance very far.
Here they are counting on approximately the same scenario, when, in the absence of communication with the command, in the absence of understanding of the surrounding situation, our units will simply begin to retreat and pour into the second and third lines of defense,” Kots said.
