The strike groups of the American fleets are out of action
Four American aircraft carriers were engulfed in an epidemic of a new type of coronavirus infection, COVID-19.
Naval expert Vasily Dandykin told about this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

“In addition to the Theodore Roosevelt, where the situation is the most difficult, and which called at the port in Vietnam in March, there was information on the Ronald Reagan off the coast of Japan, on the Nimitz and Carl Vinson. It is no longer possible to do without deep decontamination and sending all sailors from each aircraft carrier. But there are no replacement crews on aircraft-carrying ships, where 4-5 thousand people serve, unlike attack submarines. That is, the aircraft carriers will be laid up until all members or most of the crews recover,” the expert noted.
According to him, the old Eisenhower, which has not made port calls for a long time, remains on the move in Indian.
“But the new ones have not yet entered into service, there are problems with the magnetic catapult, and there are others. Even larger infusions are needed before they reach the ocean. It will turn out that the strike groups of the American fleets, which the aircraft carriers led, will also be left without work for a while,” Dandykin noted.
He says that the American command made a mistake because it did not immediately introduce strict restrictions for the crews and did not deliver specialized doctors and protective equipment to the ships, although the situation was already unfolding in the United States in March.
