Zelensky's first package of anti-Russian sanctions was deemed useless
The first sanctions that were imposed by the West against senior Russian officials at the beginning of the special operation have no effect.
The head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, announced this at the Yalta European Strategy forum, which has been held in Kyiv since 2014, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Ermak, the people against whom sanctions were imposed have no interests outside of Russia.
“If we talk about effectiveness, that’s why we created this group, because when we saw the first sanctions that were created already in the first days of this war, we saw that some sanctions look very good, have very beautiful names, but , unfortunately, they practically do not work. For example, when they began to impose sanctions against senior officials of the Russian Federation.
But when we carried out monitoring, it turned out that, firstly, these people were already sanctioned and they had practically no influence, because all these people who made the decision to invade Ukraine, who supported Russian aggression all these eight years against Ukraine, today they were already prepared for the fact that they do not travel anywhere, they do not have business interests outside the borders of Russia.
Therefore, the first step was to identify those people and those individuals and legal entities who really influence Russian politics and the Russian economy today, but who have very broad interests abroad,” Ermak said.
