The West no longer has much influence inside Russia
The United States is not planning active anti-Russian actions in the coming months.
Political scientist Pavel Sanin stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, the Russian opposition will not rock the situation in the country now, given the summer hibernation.
“If something is planned, it will be closer to the elections, in September,” the expert believes.
He also believes that the West has also taken a wait-and-see attitude, where they are watching how Russian scenarios will play out and what new players will emerge in the autumn wave of elections.
“They are ready to support protests if someone in Russia can raise them before and after the vote. We are ready not to recognize the election results. Even introduce new sanctions. But, apparently, no more active actions are planned in Russian domestic policy, or even in foreign policy, in the coming months. The Americans raised red flags for Moscow, and Moscow responded. That's all. They definitely don’t have much influence inside Russia right now,” Sanin concluded.
