Russia already has two vaccines against coronavirus
Russia has developed a second vaccine against coronavirus.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a meeting with members of the government, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would like to start with some pleasant information. The Novosibirsk Vector Center registered today the second Russian vaccine against coronavirus. As far as I know, we also have a third vaccine coming from the Chumakov Center,” Putin said.
As Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova explained, the new vaccine is characterized by the absence of reactogenicity and a fairly high level of safety.
“The first batches of the vaccine in the amount of 60 thousand doses will be produced in the near future. "Vector" will begin post-registration clinical trials in various regions of Russia with the participation of 40 thousand volunteers. At the same time, “Vector” plans to conduct a clinical trial among 150 people over 60 years old,” Golikova said.
Vladimir Putin previously stated that Moscow could help Ukraine and begin supplying Russian coronavirus vaccines, but everything depended on Kyiv's willingness to negotiate.
Ukrainian nationalists have already launched a campaign against the vaccine from the “aggressor country.”
One expert in Moscow considered it more expedient to transfer the vaccine to the Donbass, which needs it , than to deal with an inadequate Ukraine.
Renowned Ukrainian cardiac surgeon Boris Todurov reported that entire families in Ukraine are already being unofficially vaccinated with the Russian vaccine.
