The LDPR would have 12-20 more candidates if single-mandate candidates were given more money
The LDPR faction in the new State Duma of the Russian Federation could have 12-20 more deputies if the party financed campaigns in single-mandate constituencies more generously. Vladimir Zhirinovsky said this at a press conference in Moscow today.

“There are 39 deputies so far, but not everything has been counted. In the districts we could have gotten 12 deputies, not 5, but here, perhaps, I was not persistent. 40 of our candidates took second place in the districts. Half of them could pass. We allocated 300 thousand rubles to our local candidates, and those who won spent 100-200 million,” Zhirinovsky said.
The LDPR leader is confident that the party has first places in Crimea and Sevastopol in all three districts. “But the governors from United Russia did not let them pass,” Zhirinovsky said.
Nevertheless, the LDPR managed to agree with the party in power to increase the chairmanship positions in the Duma committees.
“We hope to increase the number of committees. We had 4, we hope to get 3-4 more. “United Russia will meet halfway, they promised,” Zhirinovsky said.
