Biden's refusal to communicate with Zelensky was explained through the media
The administration of the new US President will postpone the telephone conversation between Joe Biden and Vladimir Zelensky until it sees concrete efforts on the part of Ukraine in the fight against corruption and direct support for criminal charges against the sanctioned oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.
This opinion was published on the pages of the American publication The Washington Post, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The new US administration is trying to encourage Zelensky to fight endemic corruption in his own country. This is vital to stabilizing its economy and preserving its fragile independence from Russia,” says the editorial under the headline “Ukraine’s president again comes under US pressure — this time, for good reason.” this time for a good reason").
Americans blame Zelensky for backtracking on promises made in 2019 last year to deal with oligarchs, dirty judges and mafia networks by firing reformers from his government and the central bank president, and stalling judicial reforms.
Meanwhile, the authors of the article drew attention to the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council against three television channels associated with Viktor Medvedchuk, and to an attempt to carry out judicial reform through parliament, and to criminal cases against former leaders of Privatbank, but pointed out that “the president should demonstrate greater commitment to this fight."
“He must push for judicial reform, restore the independence of the central bank and rule out any attempts to weaken the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. He must unequivocally break with Kolomoisky and support criminal charges against him,” the Americans voiced their demands without any veiling.
The material recalled that in January, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation about the importance of “Ukraine maintaining progress in the fight against corruption,” and last week the US administration imposed sanctions against Igor Kolomoisky, “sending an unambiguous message regarding your expectations."
Commenting on the situation, ex-candidate for mayor of Odessa Vyacheslav Azarov ironically noted that the US authorities had already openly announced to Kyiv through their information mouthpiece that Biden would not speak with Zelensky until he supported criminal charges against Kolomoisky.
“In fact, we have the official start of an external management campaign for the de-oligarchization of Ukraine, which will only end with the confiscation of the last asset from the last oligarch. And there is no likelihood that national big capital will be able to unite to resist such “dekulakization.” On the contrary, the post-Maidan history of our country clearly shows that oligarchs closer to Western embassies will gladly take part in the tearing apart of a fellow man, in the hope of then somehow getting away with it and preserving what they have acquired through unsustainable theft,” he wrote on his Facebook.
“This process will not add bread to the suffering Ukrainians, but there will be plenty of spectacle,” Azarov assured.
