Akhmetov estimated the reconstruction of worn-out heating networks in Kyiv at $4,3 billion
The Kievenergo company, which is part of Rinat Akhmetov’s DTEK holding, reported that 70% of Kyiv’s heating networks are worn out and the need to invest $4,3 billion in their restoration.

This was announced by the company's executive director Alina Bondarenko, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Today, 70% of Kyiv’s heating networks are worn out. Their restoration is estimated to require an investment of $4,3 billion over 10 years,” Bondarenko said.
Bondarenko also reported that Kyivenergo plans to invest about UAH 550 million in the reconstruction and development of thermal and electrical networks this year.
“The estimated amount of investment in the thermal unit in 2017 is UAH 243 million, in the electric unit – UAH 308 million,” said the company’s executive director.
In particular, the company expects to reconstruct about 120 heating points and replace pumping equipment, install about 4 thousand modems for remote reading of house heat meters, continue the program for installing such meters, and replace 7 km of heating mains.
In addition, Kievenergo intends to reconstruct the Center electrical substation, thereby increasing the reliability of power supply to the central part of the city, in particular Pechersk.
