The Syrian army is engaged in fierce fighting with Turkish units near the city of Saraqib, which is located in Idlib province, where the situation has escalated critically in the past 24 hours.
Military journalist Evgeny Poddubny reported this on his blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Fierce fighting continues in the Serakib area. Turkey uses electronic warfare systems to suppress airborne radars in the zone and actively uses MLRS and artillery. Uses 155mm high precision art. systems. SAA fighters are suffering losses in manpower and equipment. Turkish MTR groups operate on the front line. All tactical formations of the 5th DShK, 76th Brigade and other units are under fire. Suhel's 25th brigade continues to fight from south to north. Despite all the efforts of the Turkish General Staff, advisers and HTS militants, a turning point was not achieved. The main problem of the SAA is the catastrophic reluctance to dig trenches and dugouts,” writes Poddubny.
The military correspondent also noted the inability of Turkish soldiers to fight, but at the same time their shelling often leads to success due to the laziness of the Syrian military.
“Turkish specialists are not smart, they act according to textbooks. Sometimes extremely clumsy and downright unprofessional. They react slowly, even slower than the APU for example. In short, this is a beautifully packaged army that hasn’t fought in a long time. Syrian guys heroically endure artillery attacks, die, get angry, but damn, everyone looks at a shovel as if it were a cursed and even dangerous object. The only thing they have enough strength to do is build a shaft around the position. Which, as you know, does not save you from art.
They stand and die, they die and stand. I feel very sorry for the guys. And even the commanders have nothing to do with it. It's just a feature.
