Turchynov was shown the latest samples of Ukrainian thermobaric weapons
The Ukroboronprom concern demonstrated samples of new thermobaric weapons developed in Ukraine - the RPV-16 infantry flamethrower (made at the Chemical Products Research Institute) and RGT-27S/RGT-27S2 grenades (made by the Artem engineering company).

The new weapon was presented to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexander Turchinov at the Goncharovsky training ground of the Armed Forces.
RPV-16 is equipped with a rocket-propelled grenade with a special thermobaric mixture. This is a portable weapon that is capable of destroying an enemy even behind thick cover. In terms of its high-explosive effect, a 93 mm grenade is equivalent to a large-caliber artillery shell.
Thermobaric hand grenades RGT-27S and RGT-27S2 weighing no more than 200 hectares during an explosion create a fire cloud for two seconds, in which the temperature reaches 2500 degrees. This allows you not only to kill the enemy, but also to disable lightly armored vehicles.
“Very few countries in the world have the technology to create thermobaric ammunition. This is the first development of weapons of this type in Ukraine,” said Vladimir Korobov, Deputy General Director of Ukroboronprom for aircraft engineering and production.
