Turchynov wants to pay the Ukrainian military according to NATO standards. All that's left is to find the money

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov advocates increasing the monetary support for Ukrainian military personnel and believes that the structure of their monetary support should comply with NATO standards.

This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent with reference to the personal website of the NSDC Secretary.

“The salaries of the military cannot be less than the corresponding salaries of civil servants working in the cozy offices of the central executive authorities. The additional payment for military ranks cannot be less than the additional payment for the rank of a civil servant! (...) The structure of monetary support for Ukrainian military personnel must comply with NATO standards, somewhere at least 70-80% - official salary and additional payment for military rank. Our figure now is 10-15%,” Turchynov said.
