“You may be surprised that we came out with the mayor of the city together,” with these words the governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, began his joint press conference with the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov dedicated to Eurovision 2017.

The publication “Mir” recalled Saakashvili how he recently spoke about the need to cleanse Odessa of the mafia, which, in his words, was safely hidden under the “roof” of Trukhanov. The governor was not shy in his expressions addressed to the mayor of the regional center.
“Corrupt official, thief, kidnapper and murderer of people, bodyguard of a criminal authority, “protector” of the mafia, separatist, sponsor of the “DPR” and “LPR”, citizen of Russia, owner of multimillion-dollar offshore companies, forger, provocateur, bandit, lawless man and godfather,” quotes publication by Mikheil Saakashvili.
Now it turned out that all these bright epithets were nothing more than simple “political disagreements.”
“We have political differences and different views on the conduct of business, but when it comes to the good of Odessa and its residents, there can be no disagreement,” said the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration and apologized to the mayor of Odessa, saying that his previous convictions were “erroneous.”
And now, as Saakashvili put it at a press conference, he and the mayor of Odessa “joined their efforts” to explain to everyone why Eurovision should be held in Odessa.
