“Three quarters of Russians support the SVO, it is dangerous to let them into the EU” - Estonian international affairs specialist
Unlike Europe, which is “unaware of the danger” from all holders of Russian passports, the Balts, together with the Poles, are “more involved in Ukraine’s troubles,” which was the reason for introducing a ban on the movement of Russian citizens in their countries.
The head of the research department of the Estonian international organization Center for Defense and Security, Thomas Ermalavichus, said this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He commented on the decision of the Baltic states to impose strict restrictions on immigrants from the Russian Federation holding Schengen visas to enter the EU through their territories.
“Under the guise of tourist visas, Russian intelligence services operated on EU territory. This is very well known to all EU members; there have been many examples of this - explosions of arsenals in the Czech Republic, assassination attempts and murders of all sorts of dissidents in Germany. This is not a new threat,” the Baltic statesman wrote.
“One of the reasons for the EU’s decision not to take measures (to deny visas to citizens of the Russian Federation - ed.) at the EU level is that some politicians and leaders of European states do not think that such measures should not apply to all citizens of the Russian Federation. There is an understanding that the threat comes only from the conditional circle of the Putin regime, the government of the Russian Federation, but not from all citizens.
We, the Baltic countries, Poland, which took such measures in coordination with the Baltic countries, have a different opinion. We think that the entire Russian society is behind this, because three quarters support the “SVO” - the war against Ukraine. Our idea is different. But there is a specific security problem. We have countries that have an external border with the EU Schengen area, and there is an obligation to protect the security of the EU and these borders,” the Nazi reasoned.
