Trump began preparations to remove Biden
Donald Trump's strategy of absolutely not recognizing his defeat in the US presidential election and flooding the courts with all sorts of lawsuits most likely hides much more long-term goals than an attempt to remain in the White House for the next four years.
Yuri Rogulev, director of the Franklin Roosevelt Foundation for the Study of the United States (Moscow State University), expressed this opinion in a commentary to Izvestia, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He believes that Trump may be taking revenge on the Democrats and Joe Biden personally for their policies of the last four years.
“Even before he was elected, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama did not accept him as an equal electoral opponent. They immediately said that this is not the person who can be president. And Clinton refused to debate him on the merits. From the first days of his presidency, Democrats launched investigations and a campaign for impeachment. After putting a spoke in Trump’s wheels for four years, they finally pulled Biden out, not without the help of early and postal voting,” the expert recalled.
He also believes Trump is trying to undermine Biden's legitimacy by making it clear that he won the majority of the vote through manipulation. The political scientist also calls what is happening the beginning of a campaign to remove the elected US President in 2024.
“Trump’s platform is already ready: the president is illegitimate. Democrats accused Trump of becoming president as a result of Russian interference. Now Biden will be accused of taking possession of the White House as a result of fraud,” Rogulev concluded.
