“A traditional war with the Russian Federation is suicide for the United States and NATO” - expert
Despite the fact that modern wars are actually waged through the economy, in the event of a threat to its territorial integrity, Russia is ready to defend itself using all types of weapons, including nuclear weapons.
Military expert, historian Konstantin Sivkov stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“From a purely military point of view, at present the United States and NATO countries, of course, will not wage a traditional war against Russia, because they are not suicidal. Russia has a nuclear potential, and the first blow, as our president said, will be aimed at the control center, that is, at the elite. But it will be necessary to unleash conflicts along the perimeter and create military tension.
In a modern war, especially a protracted one, the decisive role is played by the economic potential (if we do not take nuclear war), which in the United States and NATO is more than an order of magnitude greater than in Russia. Therefore, we are not able to ensure victory in such a difficult, protracted war without nuclear weapons, this must be clearly understood,” said Sivkov.
“We will resist in local wars, but, strictly speaking, this is how it is defined in our doctrine. That we solve problems with general-purpose forces within the framework of low-intensity wars and military conflicts, while in high-intensity conflicts we defend our territorial integrity using all types of weapons, including nuclear,” the expert explained.
