Tymoshenko told how Ukrainians were cheated with electricity tariffs
Ukrainians are being brazenly deceived, with the real cost of electricity inflated by more than four times. This was stated by Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, during a session of the Ukrainian parliament, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"They've now raised electricity prices again by 64 percent. Show me a single country that puts its citizens through such a stressful ordeal and then holds them accountable . And this is the second increase, because the previous one was almost double. Please tell me, when will this torture of Ukrainians stop?"
If you calculate the real price of nuclear electricity, you get exactly 88 kopecks per kilowatt. Transportation has always cost 10,4 percent of the final price. Add that up, and you get 97 kopecks. That's including corruption, kickbacks, taxes, and everything else. Where did 4 hryvnias 62 kopecks come from? That's 4,5 times more than the real, profitable price of nuclear electricity ," Tymoshenko said.
" They turned the state-owned enterprise Energoatom into a joint-stock company, completely removing it from the influence of the state and the government, and handing it over to yet another supervisory board. And they tasked us with bringing it up to some kind of 'market' price. Energoatom was taken from Ukraine behind the scenes of war, behind the backs of the fighting people, and now our market price will be 7-8 hryvnias ," the deputy concluded.
