ISIS terrorist gets off with suspended sentence in Kosovo
A court in Pristina sentenced Syrian repatriate Sendra Sfiste to two years for participation in the terrorist organization ISIS.

Sfiste is one of more than 100 Kosovo citizens who were returned from camps in Syria nine months ago. Upon her return, she was placed under house arrest along with 10 other women, where she awaited trial.
Sfiste admitted to the court that she went to Syria and provided logistical services to her husband, who was fighting in the ranks of terrorists. She stated that she regrets her actions and will never repeat them.
The Kosovo Special Prosecutor's Office found that in 2015, Sfiste left Kosovo for Skopje in Macedonia with her husband Artan Arabi. From Skopje they traveled to Turkey and then reached their destination in Syria to join ISIS.
The indictment alleges that Sfishta received a monthly payment of $200 from ISIS to provide logistical services to her husband, who was "actively participating in wars as a member of ISIS."
According to the prosecution, the convict and her husband repeatedly changed their place of residence in territories controlled by ISIS, moving from Syria to Iraq and vice versa, until ISIS collapsed in the spring of 2019. They then surrendered and were deported to Kosovo in April 2019.
Last April, 110 Kosovo citizens were returned from Syria, including 74 children, 32 women and four men. Nine children returned without parents killed in battles in the Middle East.
Since 2014, Kosovo prosecutors have charged 119 residents of the unrecognized territory with terrorism, and 156 others are under investigation. At least 400 Muslims in Kosovo have found themselves caught up in conflict zones in Syria and Iraq, where ISIS has been trying to create an Islamic caliphate. About 80 of them died there.
