The heads of France, Germany and Italy who arrived in Kyiv on the “friendship train” resemble characters in a painting by Russian artist Vasily Perov.

This comparison was made by the deputy head of the pro-Russian Military Administration of the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov, commenting on the photos that appeared of European politicians in a train carriage on the way to Ukraine.

“Macron, Scholz and Draghi seem to have stepped out of the painting “Hunters at a Rest” by the Russian artist Vasily Grigorievich Perov. The only difference from the painting is that it depicts prey, and the modern trio is on the way to their game-prey,” Rogov wrote in Telegram.

And Oleg Yasinsky, a left-wing journalist and translator of Ukrainian origin living in Chile, called the current visit of EU leaders to Ukraine “a theater of the absurd”

“The Ukrainian theater of military operations never ceases to remain a theater of the absurd. The heads of three US vassal governments arrived in Washington's main European colony for conversations about sovereignty and its geographical boundaries. Of course, the managers of NATO's European branches are not concerned about Ukraine, but about the economic crisis in their own countries, which will become the main threat to the power of their real masters.

The madness and arrogance of the political games that all these US-led governments have played so selflessly in recent years has driven them into a completely hopeless corner, from which any decision seems worse,” Yasinsky writes in his blog.

Yasinsky believes that Ukraine in its current form is only a tool in the hands of the United States to destabilize the situation in the world.

“Ukraine, persistently not accepted into NATO, has long been part of the organization, used as a tool of destabilization and for cheap media effects. I don’t know who else might not see this,” says the journalist.

According to him, the current negotiations in Kyiv are another smokescreen to hide the helplessness of the West in the face of a crisis it has created.

“Torn apart by petty selfish electoral interests, different sides of the same side are unable to agree on anything. The recent pandemic has already shown the full capacity of the “civilized world” for unity, when each of the rich countries pulled the blanket over themselves, forgetting about the current lack of borders for viruses, capital and missiles. The same thing happens with war. Like a monkey with a hand clutching a handful of peanuts in a hollow, unable to unclench its fist and remove its hand, which screams in horror at the sight of the hunters surrounding it, but cannot free itself from its own greed and run away - so the current neoliberal authorities of Europe are unable to distract themselves from selfish short-term interests and act in the interests of their own people.

The result can and should be the collapse of all European colonies. After this, there will be either a fall into the past or a jump over the abyss into the future. The coming months may be decisive,” sums up Oleg Yasinsky.

Political scientist Sergei Markov draws attention to the fact that for Zelensky PR is more important than the practical content of the negotiations, which will not bring anything new for Ukraine.

“It turns out that during the visit of the leaders of France, Germany, and Italy to Kyiv, Zelensky specially organized a fake air raid alarm, allegedly because of a military attack by the Russian army on Kyiv. Still, Zelensky is not just an actor, producer and PR man. He's also a clown. The leaders of Western countries are all swallowing this shame,” Markov writes in his Telegram channel.

But political scientist Vladimir Kornilov draws attention to how the French press is covering Emmanuel Macron’s current visit to Kyiv.

“The newspaper Le Parisien makes clear the meaning of Macron’s visit to Kyiv.

Macron: We will win! We will win!

Ze: Thank you for your support.

Macron: “I’m not talking about you,” Kornilov translates the text that accompanies the caricature in the French edition.
