Reverse surprises: now Hungary will cut off gas to Ukraine
If Ukraine continues to aggravate relations with Hungary, Budapest will also take tough measures in response, including the deployment of UN peacekeepers and cutting off gas.
Hungarian political consultant Miklos Kevehazi stated this on the Rossiya-1 television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“If they expel the consul, Hungary will also naturally expel the Ukrainian consul. It will either stop there or go further if Ukraine takes the next step. Hungary announced two months ago that it wants to restore order in Transcarpathia. Not on our own, but to invite the blue helmets there. Then Hungary can simply turn off the gas valve for Ukraine. The majority of gas comes to Ukraine from Hungary,” Keveházy said, referring to reverse supplies of Russian “blue fuel,” which official Kyiv presents as “a cessation of gas dependence on the Russian Federation.”
Earlier, Kiev political scientist Andrei Golovachev expressed his belief that Hungary is counting on destabilizing the situation in Ukraine during the presidential elections.
“Russia and the West are in a state of cold war, and they will only intensify the confrontation in Ukraine if it develops at the time of the elections. No one will look for a compromise anymore: Ukraine has exhausted all its limits on compromises and has learned nothing. In this case, Ukraine will begin to crack and... Hungary is preparing in advance for a similar scenario, distributing citizenship en masse. And not only Hungary, by the way,” notes Golovachev.
