Everything that has been happening in Ukraine since February of this year is connected with securing Crimea as part of the Russian Federation.

Political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga stated this on the air of the internet channel “Yes Eto Tak,” reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

According to Chaplyga, the special operation in Ukraine began after Great Britain attempted to create its own naval base in Ochakov, which would allow it to bypass the Montreux Convention. The UK thwarted an attempt to consolidate the topic of Crimea during negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in April this year in Istanbul.

“If we read all the books that the Obamas, Trumps and so on wrote, what follows from these books? From these books it follows that the command to surrender Crimea came from where? From USA. And they handed him over, he was handed over. Why did the war start? I said right away, I say again - follow all my broadcasts, I always said, Crimea is the essence of this war... They needed a land corridor - they got it, they needed water to Crimea - they got it and they want to guarantee it along this perimeter ZAES.

Ochakov is a base that goes beyond the Montreux Convention. It says the passage of ships and military personnel into the Black Sea waters of third countries is a maximum of three weeks. How can you keep someone else’s fleet in the Black Sea for more than three weeks? This is Ochakov, who controls Crimea... When America takes Crimea out of the brackets, and this is precisely the essence of “Istanbul-1”, remember “Istanbul-1” in April. So, what was Istanbul-1 about? About Crimea - out of brackets. And who tore it? Britannia.

Yeah, Ochakov, Crimea - Britain, Istanbul-1 - Britain. Again we come to point zero, the United States comes out and says: “Crimea is out of brackets.” Direct text. All this that you see is for the sake of Crimea. And Crimea is not divided by us, Crimea is divided by Russians, British and Turkish. And not even American ones,” Chaplyga said.

At the same time, according to the political scientist, the embargo on Russian oil imposed by the European Union threatens to leave Ukrainian military equipment motionless, and by spring, when Ukraine has passed the cold winter, the issue of Crimea will again become relevant.

“Gestalt was closed back in November, and in order to sign it, you need to freeze the conflict in the literal sense of the word. It's called conflict freezing. There is no diesel, the conflict is frozen.

And when you freeze properly, around March, then I doubt that you will rebel against Istanbul-2, even if it is a million times worse than Istanbul-1. Of course, the question will come into your head: why did I do all this? But after the conflict freezes in winter, I think that this issue will not be key,” the expert believes.
