Suprun is ready to work with anyone, as long as they don’t get kicked out
Acting Minister of Healthcare and US citizen Ulyana Suprun stated that she is ready to cooperate with any constructive political force after the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
She spoke about this in an interview with DW.

According to her, she may remain in the government after the parliamentary elections in October if there are people in the Cabinet who will not block changes.
“Because if there are people in the government who will block the changes that we are introducing, then how can we work with people who have opposing ideas?” she answered the question of whether she would agree to work in the ministry in the future.
Suprun said that her candidacy for the government was submitted by representatives of the current coalition, but her team is ready to cooperate with any constructive political force.
“We will monitor what happens over the next six months and are ready to work with any constructive political force to explain the progress of reforms and provide the industry with the necessary funding,” she explained.
She also stated that the status of “acting.” there is no harm in introducing reform in the Ukrainian ministry and called these changes “inevitable.”
“I was offered to head the Ministry of Health in the summer of 2016, when the Rada was on vacation. And later, when we showed what changes we were going to make, the pharmaceutical lobby and almost the entire health committee did not agree with those changes. Therefore, we proposed not to manually distribute money to hospitals, but to pay for specific services, and in this way it is very difficult to steal something and give it to your godfather or friend,” explained Suprun.
“Do you yourself see that they are preventing me from implementing the reform? The law on changes in the financing of medicine adopted by parliament. 27 and a half million people have signed declarations with their family doctor,” she added.
According to her, the Ministry of Health managed to implement one of the most large-scale reforms in Ukraine.
Suprun also noted that in August she will be the longest-serving head of the Ministry of Health in the history of independent Ukraine.
“I was able to sit for three years and do my job, it really shows that status is not important,” the acting minister said.
Suprun also touched upon criticism of her reform from the newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky and his advisor on health issues Yevgeny Komarovsky.
“They would like to see how they happen, perhaps give some advice. We are ready to imagine changes, but we insist that they have already begun and are irreversible. That the second stage of the reform begins in the summer, and the third, last one, regarding changes in financing, starts in 2020,” Suprun said.
She also said that the court considering her powers was postponed several times. In her opinion, this benefits her opponents. She noted that, as acting Minister, does not have the right to vote at government meetings, however, according to her, in Groysman’s government there has never been a situation where one or two votes were missing for any decision.
