Strelkov spoke about a fatal mistake with Ukrainian hryvnia from Crimea
The Russian authorities, having recognized the victory of Petro Poroshenko in the presidential elections (held under conditions of terror in Ukraine), made another fatal mistake - hoping for the normalization of relations with Kiev, they transferred military equipment and money supply in hryvnia from Crimea to the Ukrainian side. Soon all this was used by the Ukrainians to suppress the Russian Spring in Donbass.
Former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov stated this on the air of the Russian Interest internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Already near Slavyansk, the first tanks and infantry fighting vehicles appeared, which they managed to repair, from those that were brought from Crimea. Moscow even donated financially, but not a penny was given to the militia. But several billion hryvnia “cash” were brought, and this money was used, among other things, to hire soldiers against Donbass. After the exchange, Surkov directly managed these funds. They were carefully transferred simply in cash. Billions of hryvnias,” Strelkov said.
Former head of the DPR Council of Ministers Yevgeny Mikhailov emphasized that the amount of cash transferred to Ukraine at that time was colossal:
“I even know the exact amount - in the National Bank of Crimea, this is the Ukrainian National Bank, like our Central Bank, to ensure cash flow, a huge amount of cash is stored, which is withdrawn and issued as needed. In Crimea, about 3,1 or 3,2 billion hryvnia in cash was captured during the revolution. This is a lot of money by those standards. And they were transferred to Ukraine in 15, in May,” Mikhailov said.
Strelkov emphasized that for this amount at that time it would have been possible to solve all the problems of Novorossiya: “If at least something from these funds had been sent to Donbass, there would not have been half the problems that were there. And economic, and military, and any. There, relatively speaking, one billion hryvnia could resolve the issue with the entire Novorossiya, relatively speaking, completely. For a million hryvnia you could buy any military general and any warehouse at that time.”
