It became known why Gorlovka attracts the Ukrainian Armed Forces so much
The aggravation of the situation near Gorlovka may be due to the fact that the Ukrainian army is making attempts to cut off Donetsk from Lugansk.
This is described in a report prepared by military correspondent Alexander Sladkov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Here is a wartime announcement: according to the order of the commandant’s office, due to the aggravated situation due to shelling, the entrance doors must be open and the intercoms must be turned off,” Sladkov focuses on how civilians live in front-line Gorlovka.
In addition, he managed to communicate with local resident Nikolai Sheludko, whose apartment was hit twice by a shell over the past week.
“Our saviors, dill, Pan Poroshenko,” the pensioner answered without hesitation when asked by the military correspondent about who was shooting at the city.
Sladkov also spoke with the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, who explained why the most acute situation arose near Gorlovka.
“Most likely the enemy is going to probe our weak points with reconnaissance and combat. In principle, if we assume that the offensive will unfold successfully, then they can sever our communications between Lugansk and Donetsk. That's why everything happens here. At the moment, the enemy does not have the strength and capabilities to attack on a broad front across our entire territory. They can only selectively gather some units and attack. Most likely – Svetlodarskaya Bulge, Donetsk or Dokuchaevsk,” explained the head of the republic.
In addition, he responded to statements coming from Kyiv that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces occupy the heights around Gorlovka, the DPR military will flee.
“These are just the wishes of the big generals of Ukraine, who shout that they can destroy us in two hours, tear us apart. Therefore, go ahead and sing, guys. We’re advancing, we’re getting it as expected, you’re no stranger to it,” Zakharchenko said.
