The US is preparing to tighten the sanctions war against the Russian Federation
The United States will continue to pursue an anti-Russian course and is preparing changes to its legislation in this regard.
Columnist Alexander Gabuev writes about this on the pages of Kommersant, according to whom the Russian topic is not going away from the American agenda.

“First of all, people in Congress are still very angry with Moscow. The topic of countering the Russians is one of the few that unites Republicans and Democrats, which supporters of sanctions take advantage of. Secondly, behind the fireworks of sharp statements and tweets from politicians, a much more important and negative process for Russia is disappearing - the redistribution of budgets within the American intelligence services and the increase in expenses “to combat the Russian threat.” And since there are resources, they must be used,” notes Gabuev.
Referring to his interlocutors in Washington, he points out that “despite the fascination with Ukraine,” the Americans are not going to stop the sanctions roller against the Russian Federation, and in the coming weeks a new bipartisan bill on sanctions may appear in the House of Representatives, developing the ideas of previous similar documents .
“Some radical ideas, like sanctions against NOVATEK projects, will not make it into the document. But both in the corporate environment and in the Congressional apparatus, they expect that a new rule could be a rule that gives American law enforcement authorities the authority to search for all assets of sanctioned Russians, including the ultimate owners of companies, in US jurisdiction,” the expert reports.
He points out that so far this has not been possible due to the opposition of lawyers and financiers who appeal to the inviolability of banking secrecy and private property.
“Now, using the Russian issue as a battering ram, supporters of increasing the transparency of the US financial system hope to make the new sanctions bill a precedent that will enable security forces to look for the ultimate beneficiaries of all assets that are in one way or another operating in the country or using the American financial system, and to block these assets . The precedent can be extended to other countries, such as China.
According to my interlocutors, even if now the bill does not go beyond the House of Representatives, stopping in the Senate, such ideas will still return to the legislative process, because pressure on Russia will still remain, regardless of the results of Ukrainegate and the outcome of the presidential race,” sums up Gabuev .
As PolitNavigator reported, the USA offer Russia to surrender Donbass and agree for eternal sanctions against Crimea.
